TROY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball (7-11, 3-11 Skyline) lost 3-0 and 10-0 Skyline Conference road decisions Saturday afternoon to the Sage Gators (18-10, 9-1 Skyline) from Robinson Field.   

Game 1: Sage 3, Old Westbury 0
Sage took an early first-inning lead with Katy Rimawi's RBI single to score Allison Ford for the game's initial run off Panther starter Amanda Fucci (3-7, 6 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K).  The Gators took a 3-0 lead five batters later as two unearned runs scored on a fielding error by second baseman Otilia Bernal. 

Old Westbury collected singles by Brittany Chernoff in the second and Gabriella Valdes in the sixth for the Panthers' lone hits off Gators' starter Katie Kovage (7-2, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K).  The Panthers threatened in the sixth with runners at second and third before Ford took over to induce an inning ending ground out to escape out of the jam.

Game 2: Sage 10, Old Westbury 0 (5 Innings)
Sage secured the sweep with Rimawi's (2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 R) solo home run in the first inning off Panther starter Fucci (3-8, 2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, K).  The Gators registered a trio of RBI singles in the second inning and broke the game open with six runs in the fourth. 

Valdes singled to lead off the Panthers' fourth to erase Lindsay Brace's (8-4, 4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K) no-hit bid. 

Krysta Flareau singled with two outs in the fifth for Old Westbury's other hit.

SENIOR DAY VERSUS PURCHASE PANTHERS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury returns home Sunday (Apr. 17) for a Skyline Conference Senior day doubleheader against the Purchase Panthers.  First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  Old Westbury will honor Kristan Taylor as its lone senior prior to the start of the game.
