BRONX --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury softball (10-14) dropped 8-0 and 6-2 non-conference road decisions to the NYU Violets (16-14) Saturday afternoon from Bahoshy Field.

Game 1: NYU 8, Old Westbury 0 (6 Inn.)
Val Schwein (2-for-3, RBI, R) doubled home Molly Webber in the second inning for the game-winning run off Panther starter Nicole DeCola (4-4, 5.2 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, K).

Dakota Damiani's RBI single doubled NYU's advantage in the fourth.

Webber broke the game open in the fifth with a three-run triple for NYU's 5-0 lead before tacking on three more runs in the sixth to settle to scoring.

Katie Rizzo (2-for-2, BB) and Samantha Scharff (2-for-2, BB) each registered multi-hit performances for Old Westbury.

Jacqueline Tremblay (2-3, 5 IP, 6 H, 0 R, BB, 2 K) and Sydni Holtz (1 IP, 1 H, BB, K) combined to record NYU's shutout.

Game 2: NYU 6, Old Westbury 2
DeCola (4-5, 6 IP, 12 H, 6 R, 5 ER) retired her first six batters before allowing four runs in the third. Carina Sturm (2-for-3, 2 R, RBI) broke the scoring ice by doubling home Sage Scheiwiller (1-for-3, 2 R) for the game's initial run. NYU followed with Marisa Bella's (3-for-4, 3 RBI, R) two-run triple and a RBI single by Rachel Fulton to extend the Violets' lead to four.

NYU reached six in the fourth with a pair of RBI singles.

Scharff worked a leadoff walk in the fifth and came around to score four batters later on a fielding error by NYU starter Karissa Zubulake (4-1, 7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, ER, 2 BB, 9 K).

Gabriella Valdes (2-for-4, R) led off Old Westbury's sixth with a double before scoring two batters later on a RBI single by Amanda Fucci for the 6-2 final.

Delana Murray (2-for-4) collected her team-leading 10th multi-hit game of the season for Old Westbury.

HUNTER HAWKS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home Tuesday (Apr. 26) for its regular-season finale against the Hunter Hawks. The non-conference doubleheader is slated for 3 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.
