OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer claimed victory at home Thursday afternoon with a 3-0 decision over the Hunter College Hawks (3-11-1) in non-conference action inside Panther Park.

Old Westbury (6-3-3) broke the scoring ice in the 23rd minute as Jorey Garcia fed Alexander Routledge for his third goal of the season (second-career game-winning goal) to give Old Westbury the early 1-0 lead. Kevin Carranza then put away Mike Rodrigues' rebound in the 43rd minute to double the Panthers' advantage to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.

Garcia opened the second-half scoring in the 59th minute by knocking home Nikolas Sgaraglio's rebound past Hunter goalie Noah Dougherty (0-5-0) for the three-goal cushion.

Mike Warren (6-3-3) was credited with Old Westbury's while Kevin Driscoll set a career high with four saves to post his third-career combined shutout. Dougherty stopped six shots in defeat for Hunter.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (24-9), shots on goal (9-4) and corner kicks (6-3).

SUNY MARITIME PRIVATEERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury (2-2-1 Skyline) continues its four-game homestand Saturday (Oct. 14) with Skyline Conference showdown versus the SUNY Maritime Privateers (10-3-1, 4-2-0 Skyline) at 12 p.m. from Panther Park.
