OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer concluded the 2017 season with a 0-0 double overtime draw to the Purchase College Panthers (6-9-1, 4-4-1 Skyline) at home Monday afternoon inside Panther Park. Old Westbury misses out on postseason play for the second-straight year after posting a 2-13-2 overall record and 1-6-2 in conference play.

Old Westbury started the game off aggressively holding a 5-2 first-half shot advantage. Nicole Jones attempted to put one past Purchase goalie Amber Yarter (5-7-1) in the 14th minute before Emma Porter's shot was stopped by Old Westbury goalie Alexa Higgins (1-12-2) in the 35th minute. Shauna Henderson hit the crossbar for Old Westbury in the 42nd minute to send a scoreless tie into intermission.

Purchase turned up the intensity in the second half to own a 7-3 shot advantage. Gianna Levine and Jones attempted to put Old Westbury on the board in the 46th and 54th minutes, respectively. Nina Brennan fired one at Old Westbury netminder Mary Clark (ND) in the 79th minute before the game went to extras.

In the first overtime, Levine took a shot in the 94th minute before Jones fired another one in the 98th minute as 0-0 game advanced to a second overtime.

The score remained even at the end of 110 minutes as Brennan took the lone shot in the second overtime in the 107th minute.

Higgins finished with one save in 65 minutes before Clark stopped three shots in the game's final 65 minutes. Yarter turned away three shots in a complete-game effort.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (11-10) and corners (4-3) while Purchase put up four shots on goal compared to the three by the hosts.
