OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer claimed a thrilling Skyline Conference victory in double overtime Saturday afternoon at home over the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (6-6-0, 4-1-0 Skyline) from Panther Park.

Old Westbury (5-3-2, 2-1-1 Skyline) broke the scoring ice in the 37th minute off Alexander Routledge's free kick that landed past Knights goalie Jakup Myrtja for the period's lone goal.

After Old Westbury held a 4-1 advantage in shots in the opening period, the Panthers continued their aggressive offensive play in the second stanza to outshoot the Knights, 8-5. Joey Dolan fired the equalizer past Panther goalie Mike Warren (5-3-2) in the 76th minute to send a 1-1 game into overtime.

Old Westbury took the lone shot attempt in the first overtime as Edens Avril fired wide in the 97th minute. Jorey Garcia headed home the game-winning goal past Knights' goalie Sean Madden (0-1-0) off a feed from Jesse Eyoma in the 103rd minute to settle the 2-1 final.

Warren claimed victory for Old Westbury without registering a save while Myrtja, Tyler Rapp and Madden combined to stop eight shots in Mount Saint Mary's loss.

In the end, Old Westbury held the advantage in shots (16-6), shots on goal (10-1) and corner kicks (5-3).

LEHMAN COLLEGE LIGHTNING UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury continues its four-game homestand next Tuesday (Oct. 10) with a non-conference showdown versus the Lehman College Lightning (9-3-0) at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.
