OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse picked up their first-ever win over the Wilkes University Colonels (4-3) Thursday afternoon in non-conference action from Panther Park. Old Westbury (2-5) is now 1-4 all-time versus Wilkes.

Sara Bey broke the scoring ice 3:24 in before Natasha Treuman doubled the Panthers' advantage 40 seconds later to give Old Westbury the early 2-0 lead. Bey dished out back-to-back assists to Danielle Weir and Rachel Phillips followed by putting away her second goal of the game to cap Old Westbury's 5-0 run with 21:39 remaining in the first half. Kyra Boccio put Wilkes on the board with 18:28 left to trim the deficit to four (5-1). Treuman finished a feed from Weir at 18:13 before dishing out an assist of her own to Imani Blake to push the Panthers lead to six (7-1). Reilly Meanor netted three goals in the final 15:43 for Wilkes as Phillips scored her second goal to ignite Old Westbury's 6-1 run over the final 8:25 to head into intermission with a 15-4 lead. Bey, Treuman and Weir all registered first-half hat tricks.

Treuman found Weir 4:09 in to break the second-half scoring ice to extend the lead to a game-high 12 goals (16-4). Boccio scored three of Wilkes' four goals during a 4-1 spurt to pull within nine (17-8). With 17:20 remaining, Bey set a single-game program record with her fifth assist as Phillips netted her first-career hat trick. Bey assisted on a goal by Blake with 3:19 left to help set a single-game record with Old Westbury's 11th helper to settle the 18-8 final

Bey continues to lead the Panthers after finishing with nine points (three goals, six assists) to become Old Westbury's all-time points leader (148). She also controlled five of the team's 14 draws. Treuman followed with six points (three goals, three assists), five caused turnovers, three ground balls and two draw controls. Weir finished with five points (four goals, one assist), four draw controls, two caused tunovers and two ground balls. Blake and Taylor Guarneri added two-goal games as Ashley Gugliuzzo (2-5) turned away 12 shots and scooped two ground balls to secure the win.

Boccio paced Wilkes with five points (four goals, one assist) as Kayla Cadden grabbed a game-high six ground balls. Sarah Carlini (4-3) made 12 saves in defeat for the Colonels.

DREW UNIVERSITY RANGERS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels to Madison, New Jersey on Saturday (Apr. 1) for a non-conference showdown against the Drew University Rangers (5-5) at 1 p.m. from Ranger Stadium.
