@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball battles Albertus Magnus

Old Westbury travels to Bronxville, New York on Saturday (Sept. 23) for tri-match against Sarah Lawrence College and New Jersey City University

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball fell in three set (16-25, 22-25, 15-25) to the Albertus Magnus College Falcons (9-4) Friday evening in non-conference home action inside Clark Athletic Center.

Albertus Magnus hit .260 on 33 kills on 96 attempts compared to Old Westbury's (7-2) .263 attacking percentage with 19 kills on 57 attempts. The Falcons also held a 15-4 advantage in aces.

Daesha Garrison led the way for Old Westbury with six kills on 14 swings at a .357 clip. Sidasia Johnson followed with five kills to hit .500.  Kristin Grieshaber's 18 assists directed the offense while Sofia Goris' 13 digs paced the Panther defense.

Genesis Cora Luquis had a match-high 11 kills to go along with 16 digs in leading Albertus Magnus.  Nicole Beard followed with a game-high 29 assists and added 23 digs to her statline. Jesselle Guzman scooped up a game-high 26 digs.

SARAH LAWRENCE COLLEGE GRYPHONS AND NEW JERSEY CITY UNIVERSITY GOTHIC KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury travels to Bronxville, New York for Saturday's (Sept. 23) non-conference tri-match at Sarah Lawrence College.  The Panthers open with the host Gryphons (5-5) at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. showdown with the New Jersey City University Gothic Knights (4-5) inside Campbell Sports Center.
