Old Westbury closes out the regular season Wednesday (Oct. 24) with a Skyline Conference showdown at Purchase College

NEWBURGH, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer allowed four first-half goals Saturday afternoon on the way to falling 5-0 to the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (12-4-1, 8-0-0 Skyline) in a Skyline Conference road matchup from Kaplan Field in Newburgh, New York.  The loss moves the Panthers (4-12-1, 2-5-1 Skyline) to 2-13 against the Knights dating back to 2008 and remain winless against Mount Saint Mary since 2010. With one game remaining, Old Westbury is tied for seventh place with seven points in the Skyline standings.

Emma Costa put Mount Saint Mary on the board 15:59 in by beating Panther goalie Alexa Higgins (4-12-1) for the game-winning goal off Ashley Hunter's cross.  Maeve O'Sullivan doubled Mount Saint Mary's advantage 2:12 later to make it a 2-0 game. Claire Newman converted a penalty kick as part of a three-goal surge for Mount Saint Mary during a stretch of 3:39.  Brittany Bornstad finished a run from Gina Rivera in the 28th minute to send a 4-0 game into intermission.

O'Sullivan settled the 5-0 final in the 55th minute with her second goal of the game.  After being held without a first-half shot for the fourth time this season, Old Westbury tested Mount Saint Mary goalie Cassidy Rykowski (9-2-0) with Cara Normile's attempt on target at 75:38.

Higgins made 17 stops to record her 11th double-digit save total of the season (16th career) as Rykowski turned away one shot to secure the clean sheet.

Mount Saint Mary finished with the advantage in shots (41-1), shots on goal (23-1) and corner kicks (10-0).
