PURCHASE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball traveled Saturday morning to Purchase, New York for a Skyline Conference tri-match hosted by the Purchase College Panthers inside Purchase College Gymnasium. Old Westbury (6-16, 5-5 Skyline) claimed the opener in four sets (25-15, 25-17, 24-26, 25-11) over host Purchase (3-17, 1-8 Skyline) before falling in three sets (25-8, 25-10, 25-22) to the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners (17-5,9-0 Skyline) in the regular-season finale.

Looking to make its first Skyline Conference Championship appearance since 2011, Old Westbury currently occupies the sixth seed in the league standings and awaits the conclusion of Sunday's conference tri-match between the Farmingdale State College Rams (8-21, 5-3 Skyline), St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (10-10, 3-5 Skyline) and Yeshiva University Maccabees (1-13, 0-8 Skyline).

Old Westbury dominated play against Purchase by hitting .110 compared to Purchase's .023. Old Westbury also held the edge in points (56-47), kills (33-30), aces (19-12), assists (27-26) and digs (69-63) while Purchase won the battle in blocks (5-4).

Kyraleigh Zinnel tallied 24 digs (tied career high), 18 assists, six aces and five kills to post her ninth double-double of the season (16th career) in leading Old Westbury. Joelle Desrosiers followed with 11 kills to hit a match-best .375 to go along with eight digs, two aces and two assists. Danielle Corsi chipped in with nine kills, seven digs, three aces, two block solos and one block assist. Sofia Goris and Daesha Garrison scooped up 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

Sommer Code compiled 15 digs, seven digs and six aces to pace Purchase. Skyla Schoppmeyer and Isis Gonzalez added 19 and 14 digs, respectively, as Isabel Shon contributed with a match-high 20 assists.

Against USMMA, Old Westbury put together its finest set in the third stanza by hitting .214 before finishing the match swinging at .020. The Mariners hit .376 while holding the advantage in points (62-13), kills (46-8), aces (14-4), assists (45-8) and digs (35-23).

Zinnel controlled Old Westbury's offense with seven assists to go with three digs. Shanayia Lloyd produced four digs and three kills while Corsi served three aces.

Shelby Bowman produced 13 kills, seven digs and three aces to lead USMMA. Taylor Gilbertson finished with 12 kills while Kyleigh Kappas handed out 31 assists.
