Old Westbury remains on the road Saturday (Feb. 17) to close out the regular season with a Skyline Conference showdown against College of Mount Saint Vincent

MANHATTAN, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball rolled to their fourth-straight win Tuesday evening with a 92-53 Skyline Conference final on the road to the Yeshiva University Maccabees (4-19, 2-15 Skyline) inside Nat Holman Gymnasium at City College of New York in Manhattan.  Old Westbury (20-3, 14-3 Skyline) has won all seven games versus the Maccabees since they returned to the Skyline Conference in 2015-16.  With the win, Old Westbury will play as the No. 2 seed in next week's Skyline Conference Championship.

Tori Bellings broke the scoring ice with a layup 58 seconds in to put the Panthers ahead for good.  Destiny Marino proceeded to score the next eight points to cap Old Westbury's 10-0 run before Yeshiva's Leah Shulman scored to make it a 10-2 game.  Monique Joseph answered with a tip-in push the Panther lead to double-digits (12-2) for the final 36:04 of play.  Old Westbury build its lead to 20 within the opening minute of second-quarter action as Charlotte Renker registered two of her seven first-half points to advance to Panthers to a 32-11 lead.  Both teams played even for the final 4:05 of the half for the Panthers to take a 50-24 lead into intermission.

In a second half that saw the Panthers outscore Yeshiva by 23 (42-19), Old Westbury played with a 30-point lead for the final 7:58.  Phalan Smith's jumper with 2:16 showing on the fourth-quarter clock stretched Old Westbury's lead to a game-high 43 points (88-45).  

Joseph led the way with a game-high 18 points (9-of-16 FG) to go along with five rebounds (four offensive), five steals and four assists.  Renker followed with 15 points (6-of-10 FG, 3-of-4 FT), 11 rebounds and six blocks to register her 14th double-double of the season (25th career).  Marino chipped in 15 points (4-of-6 FG, 3-of-4 3FG) and two steals.  McNeill contributed 13 points (6-of-9 FG), seven rebounds, five steals (tied career-high) and four assists while Davida Warren added 13 points (5-of-10 FG), nine rebounds, three blocks (tied career-high) and two steals off the bench.  Tori Bellings dished out a game-high six assists to go with two steals.

Nicole Bick finished with 14 points (4-of-9 FG, 6-of-8 FT) and three steals to pace Yeshiva.  Adina Rosenberg chipped in 11 points and three steals while Michal Alge grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out team-high five assists and nabbed four steals.

In the end, Old Westbury hit on 51.4 percent (36-of-70) from the floor, 50 percent (4-of-8) from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent (16-of-22) from the charity stripe.  By comparison, Yeshiva connected on 29.3 percent (17-of-58) from the floor, 12.5 percent (1-of-8) from 3-point range and 66.7 percent (18-of-27) from the free-throw line.  Old Westbury won the boards battle, 51-32, while scoring 20 second-chance points off 19 offensive rebounds.  Old Westbury scored  42 points off 32 Maccabee turnovers and held the edge in assists (22-12), blocks (11-1), steals (19-17) and points in the paint (44-20).  Yeshiva led the way in bench scoring (28-23) while both teams were even in fastbreak points (6-6).

COLLEGE OF MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLPHINS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury closes out regular season play on the road Saturday (Feb. 17) with a Skyline Conference matchup versus the College of Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (11-10, 9-8 Skyline) at 1 p.m. from Peter Jay Sharp Center in Riverdale, New York.  Old Westbury has won the five-straight matchups over the Dolphins dating back to the 2015-16 season.
