Treuman’s hat trick carries @OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse in home opener against Ramapo

Old Westbury remains at home Tuesday (Apr. 3) for a non-conference matchup against Moravian College

OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse faced a 15-7 home opening setback Saturday afternoon to the Ramapo College Roadrunners (4-3) in a non-conference action from from Panther Park.  The loss sent Old Westbury (1-6) to 1-5 all-time versus the Roadrunners.    

Natasha Treuman broke the scoring ice 3:34 in to give Old Westbury the early lead.  Playing ahead for the opening 24:07, Treuman, Rachel Phillips, Halle Johnson and Taylor Guarneri all contributed to Old Westbury's 5-4 lead with 11:25 remaining.  Ramapo scored back-to-back goals during a stretch of 3:11 to take its first lead (6-5) with 5:53 showing on the first-half clock.  Treuman answered with her third goal of the game (24th-career hat trick) at 4:15 to send a 6-all game into intermission.  

Ramapo scored nine-straight goals to open second-half play as Colleen Manley's tally with 28:02 remaining proved to be the game winner for the 8-6 advantage.  Johnson rattled the back of the cage on a free-position score with 8:20 remaining to settle 15-7 final.  
 
Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-6) turned away 12 shots and scooped up five ground balls in defeat for Old Westbury while Monica Bubello (4-3) made eight stops to lead Ramapo to victory.

Danielle Weir and Cameron Isnardi both controlled four draws while LaChaye Allen caused three turnovers for Old Westbury. 

Gabi Davidson and Shannon Eagan both registered three goals to pace Ramapo. 
 
MORAVIAN COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains at home Tuesday (Apr. 3) afternoon for a non-conference showdown versus the Moravian College Greyhounds (21-7) at 4 p.m. from Panther Park.  The Panthers look to avenge their 2016 road loss to Moravian.
