2018 Season Statistics

FARMINGDALE, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse closed out the 2018 season Saturday afternoon with a 21-12 Skyline Conference setback on the road to the Farmingdale State College Rams (7-8, 6-1 Skyline) from Rams Field in Farmingdale, New York. Old Westbury (4-11, 3-4 Skyline) moves to 0-6 all time versus Farmingdale State while ending its season without a postseason berth for the first time since 2015.

Trailing 3-0, Rachel Phillips put Old Westbury on the board 11:47 in. Natasha Treuman then answered a Farmingdale State goal 2:07 later to slice the deficit in half, 4-2. With 12:40 remaining in the half, Treuman found Danielle Weir for the score to make it a 5-3 game. The Rams netted two-straight goals before Weir scored at 8:01 to trim the Rams' lead to three (7-4). Old Westbury closed out the final 4:14 with a 3-1 run with a goal Taylor Guarneri and two scores from Treuman to pull within two goals (9-7) at intermission.

Treuman and Danyel Smith tied the game (9-9) with back-to-back goals to open second-half play. The Rams then scored seven-unanswered goals to go up 16-9, including Jessica Spina's game-winner at 20:08. Weir ended the run by finishing a feed from Phillips with 10:17 remaining. Treuman added a free position goal with 8:43 left before Farmingdale State scored four-straight followed by Halle Johnson's tally from Weir with five seconds showing on the clock to settle the 21-12 final.

Old Westbury was led by Treuman, who finished with five goals, two assists, three draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Weir followed with three goals, one assist, five draw controls and two caused turnovers. Cameron Isnardi controlled eight draws while Ashley Gugliuzzo (4-11) turned away 12 shots and scooped four ground balls.

Julia Tuohy paced Farmingdale State with six goals and five assists. Courtney Gendels scored a game-high eight goals as Jessica Myers (7-8) made 14 saves to secure the win.

Old Westbury graduates a nine-member senior class consisting of LaChaye Allen, Roseann Cox, Guarneri, Gugliuzzo, Johnson, Edania Martinez, Jessica Tuckruskye, Weir and Shijuan Williams.
