@OW_Panthers Women’s Volleyball continues road play at Cedar Crest tri-match

Old Westbury returns to the court next Saturday (Sept. 15) on the road against Brooklyn College and College of Staten Island

ALLENTOWN, PA --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball traveled to Allentown, Pennsylvania on Saturday morning for a non-conference tri-match hosted by the Cedar Crest College Falcons inside Lees Hall. The Panthers (1-5) dropped a three-set (25-10, 25-18, 25-11) decision in the opener to the Falcons (3-1) before pushing the Immaculata University Mighty Macs (2-2) to four sets to fall 3-1.

Old Westbury produced its season-best set in the second stanza against Cedar Crest by hitting .400 with nine kills. The Panthers finished the match hitting .105 compared to Cedar Crest's .259. The Falcons held the advantage in kills (32-16), aces (18-1) and assists (29-16) while Old Westbury outplayed the hosts in blocks (2-1) and digs (41-30).

Joelle Desrosiers nailed down seven kills on 13 swings to hit .462 in leading Old Westbury. Lillian Chiauzzu served Old Westbury's lone ace as Kyraleigh Zinnel's eight assists captained the offense. Kristin Grieshaber totaled 15 digs to pace the defense.

Nicole Hill had 10 kills and Madison Flatt dished out 14 assists to guide Cedar Crest to victory. Hill and Lindsey Davis both served five aces.

COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND DOLPHINS AND BROOKLYN COLLEGE BULLDOGS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on the road next Saturday (Sept.15) for a non-conference showdown against the College of Staten Island Dolphins (4-2) at 11 a.m. and Brooklyn College Bulldogs (3-1) at 1 p.m. from Sports & Recreation Center in Staten Island.
