NEW YORK --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball failed to reach the Skyline Conference Championship semifinals for the first time in four seasons after a decisive 60-59 home loss to the sixth-seeded Farmingdale State Rams (10-16) on Tuesday evening in first-round action from Clark Athletic Center.

The third-seeded Panthers (20-6) entered with a nine-game winning-streak against Farmingdale State, and conclude the year with their fourth-straight 20-win season. Old Westbury graduates a senior class of six consisting of seniors Tori Bellings (2015-19), Cassandra Chery (2018-19), Paige Jelinek (2015-19), Monique Joseph (2015-19), Alexis Lopez (2015-19) and Charlotte Renker (2016-19).

Farmingdale State broke the scoring ice 2:40 in and Bellings answered 28 seconds later with a three-pointer to give Old Westbury a 3-2 lead. The Panthers later used a 9-1 run during a stretch of 3:26 to go up by nine (16-7) with 39 seconds left in the first quarter. Old Westbury went up by a game-high 17 points by going on an 11-3 spurt to start the second stanza. Farmingdale State scored 13 of the game's next-18 points during the final 4:27 to trail 36-27 at the break.

The Rams outscored Old Westbury by eight in the third period to pull within one (46-45) heading to the final quarter. Renker dropped in a layup at the 6:40 mark to push Old Westbury's lead to seven (54-47). Farmingdale State then went on a critical 11-2 scoring spree as Nia Miller's three-pointer with 2:14 showing on the fourth-quarter clock gave the Rams the lead for good, 58-56. Davida Warren made it a 58-all game 29 seconds later with a pair of free throws. After Destiny Hurt scored the game-winning layup to put Farmingdale State ahead 60-58 with 17 second left, Bellings sank her first free throw before her second one rimmed out with 0.4 seconds left to seal the 60-59 final.

Bellings finished with 15 points and four assists to pace Old Westbury. Renker followed with 14 points (5-of-7 FG, 4-of-4 FT) and eight rebounds. Joseph chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and nabbed a game-high four steals to register her seventh double-double of the season (22nd career). Warren added 10 points and 14 rebounds to post her 16th double-double of the season (20th career).

Miller poured in a game-high 26 points (6-of-13 3FG) to lead Farmingdale State to victory. Hurt scored 12 points while Alexis Hunter pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds.

The Panthers shot 32.8 percent (21-of-64) from the field, 27.3 percent (3-of-11) from three-point territory and 58.3 percent (14-of-24) from the free-throw line. Farmingdale State connected on 29.9 percent (20-of-67) from the floor, 30.3 percent (10-of-33) from beyond the arc and 50 percent (10-of-20) from the charity stripe. Old Westbury won the boards battle, 55-43, scoring 13 second-chance points off 22 offensive rebounds. The Panthers outplayed Farmingdale State in assists (16-8), blocks (4-0), bench points (4-2), fastbreak points (11-6) and points in the paint (32-20) while scoring 16 points off 13 Ram turnovers. Farmingdale State held the edge in steals (9-6).
