Treuman leads @OW_Panthers Women’s Lacrosse against Ramapo

Old Westbury opens Skyline Conference play Wednesday (Apr. 3) at Mount Saint Mary College

MAHWAH, NJ --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse were unable to recover from an early deficit en route to losing their sixth-straight game Monday afternoon by the final count of 17-3 on the road to the Ramapo College Roadrunners (4-2) in non-conference action from Athletic Center Turf.  The Panthers (1-7) move to 1-6 all-time versus Ramapo.

Shannon Eagan broke the scoring ice 2:01 in to ignite a 9-0 run.  Ava Rinaldi beat Panther goalie Tazmeya Allen (1-7) at the 5:22 mark to score the game-winning goal for Ramapo's 4-0 advantage.  Natasha Treuman ripped one past Ramapo goalie Alexandra Kerwin (4-2) with 4:25 remaining in the stanza to put Old Westbury on the board with her team-leading 21st goal of the year.   The Roadrunners answered with four-straight tallies over the final 4:02 to lead by 12 (13-1) at intermission.

Beth McGraw opened the second-half scoring as three other Roadrunners tallied goals to put Ramapo up by 17-1 with 11:42 remaining.  After a scoreless 9:15 of play, Old Westbury closed out the scoring with goals by Treuman and Hope Matthews to settle the 17-3 final.

Allen made 11 saves in defeat for Old Westbury as Kerwin stopped six shots to claim Ramapo's victory.

Ramapo led the way in shots (36-15), shots on goal (28-9), draw controls (12-8),  ground balls (32-16) and caused turnovers (18-7)

Treuman controlled six draws while Matthews scooped up five ground balls.

Rinaldi finished with a game-high four goals and McGraw followed with three to pace Rampao.

MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury remains on the road next Wednesday (Apr. 3) to open its Skyline Conference schedule against the Mount Saint Mary College Knights (0-5, 0-0 Skyline) at 7 p.m. from Kaplan Field in Newburgh, New York.  The Panthers are 2-1 against Mount Saint Mary since 2016 and will look to improve on their 2-4 all-time mark versus the Knights.
