(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury baseball freshman right-handed pitcher Patrick Quinn was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, while senior first baseman John Condon and senior righty Christian Tessitore landed on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll for games played March 25-31, announced Monday by league officials.  

Quinn (1-2), who earned his first-career weekly honor, tied a career high with seven strikeouts (two walks) and scattered two singles in seven innings to record his first-career shutout in Old Westbury's Mar. 30 13-0 win in the opener versus St. Joseph's College (L.I.).

On the season, the Queens native is holding opposing batters to a .237 average with 21 strikeouts (15 walks) in 20.1 innings of work for a 7.52 earned run average.  

Condon batted .444 (12-for-27) to hit safely in all six games with four multi-hit performances, three extra-base hits, eight RBI, five runs scored and one walk in Old Westbury's 4-2 week.  He opened the week with a 2-for-5 (R, RBI) game in the 7-1 game one win at Yeshiva University (Mar. 25).  Condon then drove in two runs in back-to-back games versus Yeshiva and Vassar (Mar. 27).  He went on a tear to closed out his final-three games of the week, combing to hit 8-for-12 with three RBI and four runs scored against New Jersey City University (Mar. 30) and St. Joseph's (L.I.). Condon was instrumental in leading Old Westbury to the sweep of St. Joseph's as he ignited the Panthers with a 4-for-5 game one performance that saw him plate three RBI and score three times.  

The Oceanside, New York native is batting .349 (22-for-63) with 17 RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles, four walks and team-leading 115 putouts in 17 games played.

Tessitore (2-2) allowed one run, scattered five hits and fanned four batters to earn the seven inning complete-game win (first-career) in the 4-1 series-clinching victory versus St. Joseph's (L.I.).

The Baldwin, New York native is sporting a 3.28 earned run average with a team-leading 28 strikeouts to seven walks while holding opposing batters to a .240 average.

ST. JOSEPH'S COLLEGE (BROOKLYN) BEARS UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns home Monday (Apr. 1) to take on the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (9-5-1, 2-2 Skyline) in Skyline Conference doubleheader action starting at 3 p.m. from Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex.  The Panthers enter Monday's matchup with a 12-2 all-time mark against St. Joseph's.
