OLD WESTBURY, NY --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury closed out the 2019 season Saturday afternoon with a 16-5 Skyline Conference home setback to the Farmingdale State College Rams (7-10, 7-1 Skyline) from Panther Park. The Panthers (3-12, 2-5 Skyline) moves to 0-7 all-time versus the Rams while ending its season without a postseason berth for the second-straight year since 2015.

Courtney Gendels buried Jessica Spina's feed 2:30 into the opening half to give the Rams the early advantage before Hope Matthews evened the score 10 seconds later with her 21st goal of the season. Trailing 3-1, Alessia Drevnyak ripped one past Ram goalie Emily Rodier (3-4) to pull within one (3-2) with 22:52 remaining. Farmingdale State replied with five-straight goals over the next 8:24 as Alexandra Sparrow's tally at the 15:52 mark proved to be the game winner for the 6-2 lead. Drevnyak found the back of the net at the 10:31 mark to post her 20th goal of the season before Gendels slipped one past Panther goalie Tazmeya Allen (3-11) over the final 9:07 to send a 9-3 game into the break.

Farmingdale State outscored Old Westbury 7-2 in the second half as Natasha Treuman (21:33) and Jessica Pedroza (4:39) accounted for the Panthers' two goals to settle the 16-5 final.

Allen (3-11) made 10 saves in defeat for Old Westbury as Rodier and Iyana Hudson turned away four shots each to secure the combined win for Farmingdale State.

The Rams held the advantage in shots (34-18), shots on goal (26-13), ground balls (36-20) and caused turnovers (12-8). Both teams drew even with 11 draw controls.

Treuman, who finished with one goal, three draw controls and two caused turnovers, concludes her career as Old Westbury's all-time leader in points (231), goals (202), shots (369), shots on goal (308), caused turnovers (121), woman-up goals (13), woman-down goals (5), game-winning goals (5) and free-position goals (75). In addition to scoring a goal, Matthews scooped up four ground balls, controlled four draws and caused three turnovers. Yaritza Caraballo chipped in four ground balls and two caused turnovers while Pedroza added three draw controls.

Gendals led the way with five goals as Spina followed with three goals to lead Farmingdale State.
