NEWARK, N.J. --- (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) SUNY Old Westbury returned to winning ways Sunday afternoon after posting a 7-0 Skyline Conference-opening tally over the Yeshiva University Maccabees (1-9-0, 0-6-0 Skyline) from Frederick Douglass Field in Newark, New Jersey.  The Panthers (5-2-0, 1-0-0 Skyline) improve to a 9-3-0 all-time mark in their Skyline openers.

Britney Graham helped Old Westbury take the early 1:58 in by scoring her third-career goal (second-career game winner) after converting on Cara Normile's corner kick.  In the 17th minute, Mia Almonte doubled Old Westbury's advantage after receiving a feed from Shauna Henderson to beat Yeshiva goalie Shani Kravetz (1-6-0).  The Panthers took a 3-0 lead into intermission with Jessica Pedroza's first goal of the season in the 41st minute.

The Panthers piled on a second-best four second-half goals ignited by Bernadelle Dorvil finishing a run from Allyn Cruz in the 53rd minute to build the lead to four.  Pedroza found Almonte in the box in the 69th minute and later put away her second goal in the 75th minute to extend the lead to six.  Brianna Williams registered her fourth-career assist by connecting with Henderson (first goal of the season) at the 79:12 mark to settle the 7-0 final.

Yakeline Umanzor (4-1-0) made two saves during the opening 45 minutes before Moira Nolan faced one shot to preserve Old Westbury's combined shutout.  Kravetz turned away 17 shots in defeat for Yeshiva.

At the end of 90 minutes, Old Westbury dominated play to finish with the advantage in shots (43-3), shots on goal (24-2) and corner kicks (13-0).

Old Westbury travels Wednesday (Sept. 25) for a Skyline Conference battle against the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles at 7 p.m. from St. Joseph's Outdoor Athletic Complex in Patchogue, New York. The Panthers will enter Wednesday's matchup winless against the Golden Eagles dating back to the 2015 campaign.
