OW Women Panther's Basketball defeated by Mt. St. Mary, NY Knights

OW plays strong first half 31-31 despite 79-48 loss

January 15, 2022 Old Westbury Panthers host Mt.St. Mary College, NY Knights to a skyline conference match.
The Mount is 8-0 in the skyline conference while Old Westbury is now 3-4.

Old Westbury was able to capitalize on their shots in a team fashion during the first two quarters of the match.  Cherish Francis found the net for 8 points and Melinda Harris 2 points for the first quarter to be down 3 points.  The second quarter Old Westbury had a balanced scoring success from Melinda Harris (9 pts.), Cherish Francis ( 2 pts.), Ja'nya Flash ( 2 pts.), Ashley Cattle ( 4 pts.), Kasiobi Okenwa (4 pts.)  The first-half play of action concluded with Melinda Harris' 3 point successful shot tying the score 31-31.

The Panthers' only scored 4 points in the 3rd quarter by Ja'nya Flash and were struggling with  turnovers (25) and steals (14) as Mt. St. Mary College, NY set the pace scoring 48 points in the latter part of the game to Old Westbury's 17 points.

Reminder - Announcement pertaining to SUNY Old Westbury Men's and Women's Basketball held at Nold Hall, held on SUNY Farmingdale's Campus.

Farmingdale, N.Y. - As of Monday, December 20th, there will be no fan permitted at any Farmingdale State College home athletic contests until further notice. 

The following guidelines for visiting teams remain in place.

Statement Regarding Visiting Teams - Winter 2021-22

1. All tier 1 personnel teams must be vaccinated or following Skyline testing protocols.

2. All tier 1 personnel must wear masks indoors at all times regardless of your vaccination status, other than when practicing or competing. This includes on the bench during games.

3. Visiting teams will be provided a locker room; however, use of the showers before/after games is not permitted.

4. Visiting teams are not permitted to eat in Nold Hall.
