The Old Westbury women's soccer team won their final game of the season against Maritime by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday evening. The Panthers finish the season 7-9-1 overall, and 3-7-1 in the Skyline Conference.
How it Happened
- Maritime scored first in the eighth minute when Anya Josberger finished upper left out of reach of the goalkeeper.
- Old Westbury answered back in the 16th minute when Bernadelle Dorvil cleaned up a rebounded shot from Mia Almonte.
- In the 57th minute, Nicole Abalco scored what proved to be the game winner off a free kick from 30 yards out, over the goalkeeper's head.
- Maritime held the 6-1 advantage in corner kicks, but Old Westbury held a 26-7 advantage in shots.
