Panthers Take Part in Soggy Run at St. Joseph's

Patchogue, New York | October 15, 2023 | The SUNY Old Westbury Panther men's cross country team took on 25 other campuses when it competed in the 2023 St. Joseph's University - Long Island Invitational while the women's team set pace with 22 other institutions on Saturday.

The men's team finished 23 out of the 26 teams competing. Panther runners ran the 8K course on a rainy morning, totaling 600 points while St. Joseph's-Long Island earned first place with 100 points. Nick Dupkin led the way with the fastest time among Old Westbury runners at 33:45.7. Aidan Bongiorno came in second among the campus' runners followed by Jack Douglas, Joseph Galante and Matthew D'Angelo. 

In the women's 5K race, the Panthers were led by Heather Dillon, who finished in 26:38.9.  Jessica Tucci was the second Panther across the finish line followed by Madison Danin and Morgan Albright. 

The men's race included 26 teams spanning DII, DIII, and junior college divisions. In the women's competition, 23 campuses competed, also representing the NCAA Division II, Division III and junior college divisions.
