Old Westbury Starts Fast, Falls to Privateers

Throggs Neck, N.Y. | October 4, 2023 |  The Panther Women's Volleyball team worked for early leads in every match during their visit to SUNY Maritime on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, but could turn those fast starts into big finishes.

The Panthers lost 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-20) to the Privateers, remaining winless in Skyline Conference play through four matches.

Junior Geanelle Sam had a strong effort, leading the team in assists (15), digs (12) and blocks (2).  She was joined by Jonangeliz Alvarez Rodriguez who, a day after being named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll, continued her consistent play as she was among the team leaders in digs (8), kills (5) and aces (2).
