Late Rally Upends Panthers

Old Westbury, New York | October 8, 2023 | Despite holding two, two-goal leads in the second half, the SUNY Old Westbury Panther women's soccer team lost 6-5 to Pratt Institute in a non-conference game. 

Leading Old Westbury with three goals was first year forward Alyse Then, bringing her season total to a conference-leading 24 goals. 

Old Westbury led 2-1 t halftime and extended its lead with a goal by Jessica Pedroza in the 51st minute. After Pratt pulled back to within a goal, Mikayla Crosier scored in the 57th minute to move Old Westbury ahead 4-2.

Four straight Pratt goals, including three by Siena Sujitno, moved the Cannoneers on top. Then's final goal in the 78th minute made it a one-goal game for the final 12 minutes but the Pratt defense allowed just one shot to preserve the victory.

Both Then and Mia Almonte had assists, while Natalie Intrieri made 6 saves in goal.
