Panthers Fall to Brooklyn Despite Stellar Efforts

Bowe, Hansen, Maser lead team

The Panther Women's Volleyball team played its second road match of the week when they visited the CUNY Brooklyn Bearcats on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

The eight-player Panther squad fell by a 3-0 match score (25-17, 25-12, 25-5) to Brooklyn, which finished 2022 as runners-up for the CUNYAC Championship and with an invitation to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Old Westbury's Stephanie Maser continued her strong 2023 season, booking nine kills and nine digs. A pair of first-year players also continued making hefty contributions to the Panthers' efforts both offensively and defensively: Hollyanne Hansen had a team-leading 15 assists while Hollyanne Hansen 13 digs were also a team high. 

The Panthers next appearance will be a continuation of Skyline Conference play when they travel to Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday, September 20, at 7 p.m.
