Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Defeated by Farmingdale on Wednesday

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team fought hard but was defeated by the Rams of Farmingdale on Wednesday. The final score was 10-0 in favor of the Rams. 
 
Old Westbury now falls to 5-10-2 on the season with a Skyline Conference record of 3-6. 
 
For the Panthers, shots were not easy to find as the team was only able to take three total shots throughout the game with two of them being on target. 
 
The Rams controlled the game from the start as they scored their first goal of the game just 11 minutes in. Not even a minute later, the Rams found themselves ahead, 2-0. 
 
Farmingdale controlled a 5-0 lead going into halftime. 
 
In the second half, the Rams' offense continued to dominate as they finished the second half with 38 total shots. 
 
The Rams would score five more goals in the second half. Old Westbury would not answer and fell to Farmingdale by a final score of 10-0. 
 
For the Panthers, Jocelyn Perez took two total shots with both being on target. Edelyn Garcia had the other on-target shot for the Panthers. 
 
Kristen Gallagher had a strong game in net despite the final score. Gallagher finished the match with 21 saves after facing a total of 64 total shots and 32 on-target shots. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will continue conference play and travel to take on Purchase College on Saturday, October 26. That match is scheduled to begin at 12 PM.
