Women’s Soccer Falls to Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday; Seniors Celebrated Before the Match

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball team was defeated by the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday by a final score of 5-0. 
 
Throughout the match, the Panthers were playing shorthanded as they lost several players due to injury. The team fought hard to keep it a close match until the very end. 
 
Sarah Lawrence scored quick as they found the back of the net just about 90 seconds into the match thanks to Viktoria Balbin who was assisted by Cora Colvin. 
 
The Gryphons scored once again just under nine minutes into the match as Colvin had another impressive assist, this time to Sydney Atherley who scored her fourth goal of the year. 
 
The Gryphons' third goal of the game, and final of the first half, came courtesy of Chloe Barker who was assisted by Colvin.
 
Sarah Lawrence went into halftime with a 3-0 lead over Old Westbury. 
 
In the second half, Barker struck again for SLC as she scored once again, growing the Gryphons' lead to 4-0. 
 
The final goal of the game came thanks to Alexis Valdes who found the back of the net with just about four minutes remaining in the match. 
 
The Panthers finished the match scoreless and fell to the Gryphons by a final score of 5-0. 
 
SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer finishes the season with an overall record of 6-11-2 and a Skyline Conference record of 4-7.
