Men's Volleyball Defeated by St. Joseph's-Long Island on Thursday Night

PATCHAUGE, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's volleyball team was defeated by the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's University-Long Island Golden Eagles on Thursday night, 3-0. 
 
The Panthers struggled to keep up with the pressure of the Golden Eagles for a second time this season. 
 
In the first set, the Panthers struggled with their attack. Old Westbury was only able to record one kill compared to the Golden Eagles' 16. The Golden Eagles walked away with the early set victory by a final score of 25-6. 
 
The Panthers failed to respond in the second set as they only managed to put up three kills. The Golden Eagles took the second set, 25-7. 
 
In what would be the final set of the night, the Panthers were defeated 25-12. OW managed to put up their highest number of kills of the night with four. 
 
Anthony Moyett led the team in kills with four. Moyett also had a block and four digs. James Seraphin finished the night with two kills and a block. Ashel Santos also had two kills and three digs. 
 
Next up, the Panthers will wrap up the season on the road at a tri-match hosted by Sarah Lawrence. OW will face off against Sarah Lawrence and Manhattanville over the weekend, with the first match taking place at 11 AM.
