OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury baseball team was victorious in their mid-week non-conference game against the Eagles of St. Elizabeth University by a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Panthers found themselves trailing first as they went down 1-0 in the top of the second inning when the Eagles scored the game's first run.

Old Westbury responded quickly to even the score when Joe Morreale had a single that would score Mike Petrucelly in the bottom of the second inning.

The two sides remained tied until the bottom of the seventh inning when Morreale came up big again with another RBI single. This time, Morreale's hit would score Mateo Martinez. The Panthers took the lead 2-1 heading into the eighth inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Panthers added another insurance run courtesy of James Sill who had an RBI single to left field, scoring Jaime Barrios to go ahead, 3-1.

The Eagles would not find a way to rally back, and the Panthers walked away victorious. OW took the win by a final score of 3-1.
