All of the game's scoring came in the first inning.

In the top of the first inning, Jaime Barrios got things going with a single through the right side. Next, Nick Papageorge would double to left center for an RBI to score Barrios.

With a 1-0 lead, the Panthers allowed USMMA to respond in the bottom half of the opening inning.

USMMA combined for two runs on four hits to take the lead.

The first Panther hit came in the top of the first inning by none other than Nick Papageorge who doubled to left center. The Panthers could not drive in the two runners that they left stranded on base.

The Mariners scoring ramped up in the bottom of the third inning when they scored three runs to go up 3-0.

USMMA tacked on another run in the bottom of the fifth.

Old Westbury had no response as they struggled against the strong Mariner pitching.

The seventh and eighth innings were big for USMMA as they combined for six runs over the two half innings. The Mariners took a 10-0 lead after eight innings and the game would be called due to the run rule.
