| By:
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's soccer team is set to open the fall season on Saturday as the team will play host to the Bloodhounds of John Jay college for a non-conference game. The Panthers are coming off a year where they finished with an overall record of 7-11 and a conference record of 3-8.

Panther Park will be the site of all home games for the Panthers this season. Located on SUNY Old Westbury's campus, the natural grass field will allow the Panthers to face off in front of fans yet again.

At the helm, Head Coach Betty Bohringer enters her 12th season and is looking to push the program far, into a playoff spot.

When asked about the 2024 team, Bohringer said, "We are looking forward to each contest and will pursue each opportunity with heart, confidence and unity. This team has been a pleasure to coach in the short time so far and I look forward to seeing how each one of our players stands out within our conference".

This year's team features several returning student-athletes Jasmine Roldan, Evelyn Martel, Jennifer Pasquariello, Alana Wallace, Diana Garcia and Adelia Slavinskaya.

Each of these returners will look to provide their skills as well as veteran leadership to the group.

The Panthers are joined by several new players who will look to make an impact from game one. Joining OW this season as the starting goalkeeper is Kristen Gallagher. Throughout the season, Gallagher will continue to build her talents to match the strength of our field players.

Also joining the program are newcomers such as Jocelyn Forseth, Jaylyn Sanchez, Ashley Diaz, Jocelyn Perez, Eleni Petri, Lola Chavez, Stefany Donnelly, Edelyn Garcia and Scarlett Espinosa

"The entire coaching staff is excited for the of our players to make their mark this season and introduce their abilities in their competitive play starting as soon as this weekend", said Bohringer.

This year, the Panther's schedule features a mix of both non-conference and conference opponents. After the opener against John Jay, the Panthers will host CCNY for another non-conference game.

OW will travel for the following three games for a series of non-conference battles against Pratt, York and Lehman.

The team will return home on Sunday, September 15 and host Five Towns at 11 AM.

The Panthers will play and host their first conference match, Yeshiva on Tuesday, September 17 at 4:30 PM.

Beginning on September 28, the Panthers will play four straight games on the road against Mount Saint Mary, Brooklyn, Centenary and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

The team will return home on Tuesday, October 8 for a game against Mount Saint Vincent at 4 PM. After that, the Panthers will also host the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's-Long Island on October 12 at 11 AM.

The Panthers then hit the road for two conference games against Manhattanville and Farmingdale on October 19 and 23, respectively.

OW will play their final road game of the regular season on Saturday, October 26 in a 'Battle of the Panthers' against Purchase.

The team will close out the regular season at home on October 29 at 3:30 PM for a game against Sarah Lawrence. Prior to this game, the team will honor and recognize its senior student-athletes.
