Men's Soccer Defeated by Mount Saint Vincent

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer team fell short to the Dolphins of the University of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday by a final score of 3-0.
 
The men's soccer program now sits at 3-4-1 on the 2024 campaign and has a conference record of 0-3.
 
The match got going with an early goal from UMSV just four minutes into the game from Will Sornin.
 
The Panthers managed to hold off the Dolphins' attack for some time until they inevitably scored their next goal just about 21 minutes later. The Dolphins' second goal came from Javier Trujillo who was assisted by Trevor Pegg.

With a 2-0 lead and time to go in the first half, the Dolphins capitalized yet again and would score their third goal of the afternoon. The third score came courtesy of Marti Senyer.

Throughout the entire first half, the Panthers only managed to get off one shot while UMSV took nine shots.

The Dolphins entered halftime with a 3-0 lead over the Panthers.

In the second half, neither side would score. That said, the Panthers improved their offensive drive as they took a total of five shots in the second half with three of them being on target.
 
UMSV would hold on to defeat OW by a final of 3-0.
 
For the Panthers, Roobens Celine, Ryan Persaud, and Jessi Vasquez each took a shot on goal.
 
In net, Paul DeGennaro got the start and finished with three saves despite allowing the three Mount Saint Vincent goals. Andy Chacho entered the game in the second half. He would also record two saves but held the Dolphins scoreless.
 
Next up, the Panthers will hit the road for another Skyline Conference matchup. The Panthers will travel to take on Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday, September 24 at 7 PM. Following that, the Panthers will return home for a battle of the panthers against Purchase College on Saturday, September 28 at 1 PM.
