Women’s Basketball Defeated by St. Joseph’s-Long Island on Saturday

PATCHOUGE, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's basketball team was taken down by the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday. The final score was 73-26 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
 
The Panthers fought hard throughout the game despite playing shorthanded. As a team, Old Westbury shot the ball 15 percent from the floor, 25 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the free-throw line.
 
The team's leading scorer was Sakhmet Lewis who finished with a double-double. Lewis finished the game with 24 points, and 16 rebounds. Caitlyn Subero recorded two points and 12 rebounds. Amanda Chasan finished the afternoon with seven rebounds.
 
Next up, the Panthers will return home to face off against USMMA in the Clark Center Gymnasium. That game is scheduled to tip off at 7 PM on Wednesday, February 5.
