Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women’s Lacrosse Defeated by Manhattanville on Tuesday

PURCHASE, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's lacrosse team was taken down by the Valiants of Manhattanville University on Tuesday. The final score was 17-1 in favor of Manhattanville. 
 
The Panthers drop to 2-7 overall on the year with a 1-5 conference record. 
 
Old Westbury found themselves down early as they closed the first quarter down 7-0. 
 
The Panthers scored their lone goal of the game in the second quarter as Amanda Chasan had a nice assist to Ashley Maniscalco who found the back of the net. 
 
Manhattanville added three more goals of their own in the second quarter as they held a 10-1 lead at halftime. 
 
In the second half, it was all Manhattanville as they held the Panthers scoreless. 
 
Old Westbury was unable to respond to the seven Manhattanville goals and would fall, 17-1. 
 
Caitlyn Subero picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers for the Panthers. She also won five draw control. Ashley Maniscalco impressed as she recorded a goal as well as three ground balls. Amanda Chasan finished the game with an assist and a point. 
 
In net, Jara Gonzalez finished with 14 saves after facing a total of 31 shots on net. Gonzalez also recorded one ground ball.
 
Next up, the Panthers will return to action on Wednesday, April 23. The Panthers will hit the road and face off against Maritime College. That game is scheduled for 7 PM.
