Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Lehman on Friday Night

BRONX, N.Y. – The SUNY Old Westbury women's volleyball team was victorious on Friday night against the Lightning of Lehman College. The Panthers swept the match, 3-0.
 
Old Westbury improves to 2-3 on the year and sit at 1-0 in conference play.
 
In the first set of the night, the Panthers would see six kills and three errors as a team. Old Westbury was able to record 20 total attacks. The Panthers capitalized off of 11 errors made by Lehman in the opening set. The Panthers took the first set, 25-14.
 
The second set was the closest of the night. The Panthers recorded 10 kills as a team and had 33 total attacks. The final score of the set would be 27-25 in favor of the Panthers.
 
In what would be the final set, the Panthers finished with a strong showing. The Panthers recorded 10 kills with only four errors. The Panthers had 21 total attacks. Old Westbury took the set, 25-19.
 
Stephanie Maser led the team with 10 kills. Maser also had three aces, one block and seven digs. Nicole Zugnoni finished with four kills. Kasey Coppola recorded four kills and one block. Katia Gomez finished the match with 13 assists.
 
Next up, the Panthers will return to action, tomorrow, Saturday, September 27. The Panthers will hit the road for a tri-match hosted by Ramapo with CCNY. The Panthers' first match is set for 1 PM followed by 3 PM.
