Cross Country Kicked Off Season at Purchase Invitational

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The SUNY Old Westbury men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the season at the Purchase College Invitational. The men's and women's teams placed 10th overall in their respective categories. 

For the women, the course was 2.49 miles. The Panthers finished with 253 points as a team. The top performer of the team was Evelyn Avila who went 20:22.5 The next best performer for the Panthers was Isabella Recine who went 20:26.2. 

For the men, their course was 3.73 miles. As a team, Old Westbury recorded 317 points. The team's top contributor was Brendan Reid who finished with a time of 24:13.2. Behind Reid was Andy Lema who went 25:35.7. 

The Panthers will return to action this Saturday, September 13 at the St. Joseph's-Long Island Invitational. The Panthers will face several familiar faces from the Skyline Conference.
