The SUNY Old Westbury Panthers women's basketball team was defeated by the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College, 84-64, this afternoon from the Clark Athletic Center. The loss sets the Panthers at 2-14 on the season and 1-13 in Skyline play while Sarah Lawrence improves to 12-8 (9-6 Skyline).
Endya Greene led all scorers with 32 points and added seven rebounds and five steals.
Korrina Plair followed with 13 points and led with eight rebounds.
Aissata Kone and
Sakhmet Lewis both pulled down six boards with Kone adding four assists and Lewis adding nine points.
The Panthers struggled to score in the first quarter, sinking just two field goals, falling behind 21-7 after 10 minutes. The early hole would be too much to climb out of, as the Gryphons shot nearly 60 percent from the field on the contest compared to just over 30 percent from Old Westbury.
