Old Westbury Men's Soccer Rolls Past Baruch, 6-1

Box Score OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The SUNY Old Westbury men's soccer team was dominant over their win over the Bobcats in a 6-1 victory.

The Panthers wasted little time setting the tone, scoring twice in the opening three minutes. Johan Gran opened the scoring in the 2:24 mark, converting a pass from Alexander Joergensen to give Old Westbury a 1-0 advantage.

Just 21 seconds later, Joergensen found the back of the net himself, scoring off an assist from Abdiel Vargas to double the Panthers' lead.

Joergensen struck again in the 22nd minute, with an assist from Isaac Cardenas to give Old Westbury a commanding 3-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Panthers continued their offensive pressure after the break. Gran added his second goal of the night  from a penalty kick in the 67th minute, pushing the lead to 4-0.

Isaac Ronquillo Malanco then took over, scoring his first two collegiate goals with in a five-minute span. His first came in the 72nd minute before he found the net again in the 78th minute, extending Old Westbury's lead to 6-0.

Baruch eventually got on the scoreboard in the 87th minute when Ailey Dawson scored, but the Panthers' six-goal performance proved more than enough to secure the victory. With the win, Old Westbury improves to 1-0-1 on the season.

The Panthers are on the road next week against Bard College on Wednesday September 9 at 6:30.
