Alex Nikolic enters his second season as Old Westbury's bullpen and conditioning coach.
Nikolic arrived in 2014 after serving two seasons (2012-13) at Queensborough Community College as assistant coach. While there, Nikolic helped produce multiple All-Region pitchers as well as many successful transfers to four-year schools. In addition to his pitching contributions, Nikolic also took an active role in recruiting as well as strength and conditioning.
A resident of Whitestone, New York, Nikolic spent 2012 with the Long Island Shamrocks and helped the club reach the ACBL Kaiser Division playoffs in the team’s inaugural season as assistant coach. In 2013, Nikolic spent time with the New York Federals of the NACBL as the third base coach.
Before pursuing coaching, Nikolic played at Queens College during the 2006 and 2009 seasons. Nikolic quickly entrenched himself in coaching after his playing career was over, serving as the manager of the freshman team for one season (2010) at Holy Cross High School—his alma mater—and as an assistant on the varsity squad for two seasons (2010-11).
Nikolic earned a Bachelor’s degree in history from Queens College in 2013, and currently works at Prospect Performance as strength and conditioning coach.
