Brendan Barry has been named assistant baseball coach at SUNY College at Old Westbury, announced by head coach Rod Stephan. Barry, who concluded his collegiate career at Post University during the 2011 season, will serve as the Panthers’ infield coach.
Barry will be graduating Post University in 2012 with his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. As a senior in 2011, he was named Daktronics First-team All-Region, ECAC Division II All-Star, ABCA East Region Second-Team. Barry also earned All-CAAC First-Team as a third baseman in 2010 and 2011. In 2010, he set a CACC conference tournament record with 13. He started his collegiate career at Alvernia University, batting .441 as a freshman before transferring to Nassau Community College for his sophomore year, where he led the club with 30 runs batted in.
A native of Franklin Square, New York, Barry graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
