Leonard Pitt

Lenny Pitt makes a triumphant return to Old Westbury for the 20th anniversary of the Panthers, clinching the school’s inaugural men’s basketball Skyline Championship and securing a Division III NCAA Tournament spot. Guided by Coach Tomlin, the Panthers achieved a notable 19-9 record that season.

Pitt brings over 18 years of coaching expertise from diverse competitive levels. His recent stint at Bishop Loughlin High School from 2011 to 2018 saw him mentor players who went on to excel in the NBA, Division I, II, and III circuits. Notably, he played a pivotal role in Bishop Loughlin's conquest of two Brooklyn Queens Championships and three inter-sectional championship game appearances.

Following his tenure at Old Westbury, Pitt navigated collegiate coaching at the Division I and NJCAA ranks. Noteworthy stops include six years at LIU Brooklyn as an assistant (2004-2010) and a one-year stint at Miami Dade College (2010-2011). At LIU Brooklyn, he managed student-athletes' academic progress, recruitment, scouting opponents, and team logistics.

Pitt's coaching journey extends to Martin Van Buren High School, alongside roles with New Heights and the Running Rebels AAU programs. Additionally, he contributed significantly during his two-year tenure at Monroe College in the Bronx, serving as Assistant and Director of Athletics, where he steered the Express to six Region 15 Championships across various sports and six NJCAA National tournament appearances.

Transitioning to ASA College from 2018 to 2020, Pitt played a pivotal role in shaping the Avengers' athletic program, focusing on coaching recruitment, budgeting, compliance, and facility management. He emphasized community engagement, strategic alliances, and recruiting strategies during his time at ASA College.

Pitt's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from Adelphi University (1993) and a master's degree in sports management from the same institution (1996). Currently residing in Floral Park, N.Y., with his wife Jen and son Ayden, Pitt's passion for athletics and commitment to excellence continue to inspire those around him.
