Brian Wipperman

Brian Wipperman enters his fourth-year as SUNY College at Old Westbury assistant men's soccer coach.  Wipperman served as assistant coach for Old Westbury for three seasons under Mark Prizant (2003-2004) and Jason Warshaw (2005) before returning to campus for the 2011 season.

Wipperman works with the goalkeepers and assists San Filippo with recruitment of potential student-athletes. Wipperman ranks eighth all-time in NCAA Division II history with a single season average of 10.94 saves per game in 1999.

Following his three seasons with Old Westbury, Wipperman has been coaching the Garden City Soccer Club. His U14 team, was Eastern New York State Cup finalists twice (2009 and 2011), winning the championship in 2011. The team was a Waldbaum’s Cup finalist in 2010 and Division champions in 2009 and 2011, where his squads went undefeated. He also coached the U12 to U 18 squads, finishing the spring 2011 season as North East Regional Premier Team and Eastern New York State champions. In Spring 2011, his U18 team, the Garden City Gladiators won the Eastern New York State Cup.

A graduate of Molloy College (BA in History ‘00), Queens College (Masters in Education ‘06) and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Leadership Academy for Administrative Certification (SBA/SDA ’07), Wipperman brings a wealth of soccer experience back to Old Westbury, having previously worked with the Panthers as a first assistant for three seasons. He played two seasons at LIU Southampton before transferring over Molloy and was named team captain and MVP as a senior. Wipperman is a certified coach with the NSCAA since 2003, achieving an Advanced Regional Diploma.

Brian is a native of Wantagh, New York and attended St. Mary’s High School, where he achieved All-Conference status as a senior. Wipperman currently lives in Massapequa Park, New York, with his wife, Kim, and three children, Natalie (6) and twins, Matthew (4) and Grace (4). Since 2007, he has taught Special Education at Plainedge Middle School.
