SUNY Old Westbury Director of Athletics Lenore J. Walsh and Head Men’s Volleyball Coach Ryan Pastuch have announced the addition of Assistant Coach Justin Neugebauer to the men’s volleyball program.
“I am excited to welcome Coach Neugebauer to the men’s volleyball program here at SUNY Old Westbury. I am confident that his experiences will help build this program even further and help our team grow” said Head Coach Ryan Pastuch.
Neugebauer currently serves as the girls’ volleyball head coach at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety in Queens, N.Y. There, he was tasked with rebuilding and growing the program. In his first season, Neugebauer was able to put together a strong team and build a competitive culture. Neugebauer is also a physical education and health teacher at the school.
In addition to his current role at the High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety, Neugebauer has coached volleyball and other sports at a variety of levels including baseball and basketball at George W. Hewlett High School and men’s volleyball at Calhoun High School. While with Calhoun, Neugebauer helped lead the team to be crowned the 2022 Nassau County Champions.
Neugebauer, a collegiate athlete himself, is familiar with the Skyline Conference. He attended Manhattanville University where he played baseball. He earned a master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy.
