Dean Sussman enters his fourth season as assistant softball coach at SUNY Old Westbury.
Sussman entered the collegiate coaching ranks after coaching the Long Island Hurricanes, Fire and Ice Inferno and the Levittown Athletic Club.
Sussman attended Hawthorne College, where he starred on the men’s soccer team during the 1983 and 1984 seasons. He graduated from Hawthorne with a bachelor’s degree in General Studies and an associate’s degree in Business Administration. In 1983, Sussman earned his associate’s degree from Farmingdale State College in Aerospace Technology.
A graduate of General MacArthur High School, Sussman was a two-sport athlete in soccer and bowling. As a captain of the bowling team in his senior year, Sussman recorded the second highest average in Nassau County.
From 2006 to 2007, Sussman held the position as Vice President of the Levittown Athletic Club.
Sussman currently resides in Levittown, New York with his wife Joanne, and two children, Paul and Alexa.
