Brendan Gaghan enters his first season as SUNY Old Westbury assistant women’s lacrosse coach in 2019.

"I am honored to be a part of the SUNY Old Westbury women’s lacrosse program,” said Gaghan.  "I want to thank head coach Lauren Schneider for the opportunity to coach at the collegiate level and I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the game with the team."

Since 2015, Gaghan has served as coach for the Long Island Yellow Jackets Lacrosse Club.

"We are thrilled to have Gaghan join the SUNY Old Westbury lacrosse family," said Schneider. "He brings a passion of the game and will be a tremendous asset to our program moving forward."

Gaghan arrives on campus with four years of NCAA Division II playing experience.  He played in 10 games as an inaugural member of the men’s lacrosse team at Post University in 2014.  Gaghan then transferred to LIU Post, where he helped the Pioneers capture back-to-back East Coast Conference titles in 2015 and 2016.  During his three three years in Brookville, New York, Gaghan saw time in 15 games as the program went 34-15 with three ECC Championship appearances and a pair of trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament.  Gaghan was a graduating member of LIU Post’s Class of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in childhood education.

The North Massapequa, New York native was a member of the 2011 New York State Section 8 Championship team at Farmingdale High School.
