OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Men's Basketball team fell to a hot-shooting SUNY New Paltz team on Tuesday evening 53-43 at the Clark Athletic Center.  The Panthers dropped to 1-2 on the season while the Hawks of New Paltz recorded a hard fought win on the road to improve to 1-2. 

The Panthers trailed 44-30 at the 5:23 to go in the game and closed the gap to seven points, but timely shooting by New Paltz prevented Old Westbury of their second win of the season.  New Paltz shot 7-of-12 from three point territory while Old Westbury converted 3-of-19.  The Panthers were out rebounded 37-31, despite forcing 30 turnovers.

Old Westbury was led on offense by Garthlette James, who finished with a team high 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the floor.  James added nine rebounds and five steals while Anthony Stowe pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.  Divine Jackson finished with nine points, six rebounds and two steals and Ian Johnson nabbed three steals. 

New Paltz was led by the hot-shooting hand of Matt Hauser.  Houser knocked down 5-of-6 shots from beyond the arc as he finished with a game-high 22 points while teammate Lee Bertram added 17 points.  Bertram and Kyle Nelson grabbed nine rebounds apiece.
