NEW YORK, N.Y-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Men's Basketball team got out of the gate slowly in the second half and went on a costly scoring drought on Thursday night as Yeshiva University slipped past the Panthers, 58-57.  The visiting Panthers fell to 4-5 on the season and are now 3-2 in Skyline Conference action while Yeshiva improves to 6-7 overall and 3-4 in league play.

Old Westbury which led 36-22 at half-time, saw Yeshiva mount a 12-0 run to take command of the game midway through the second half.  Down the stretch Brandon Mays connected on a jumper to give the Panthers a 57-55 lead with 2:38 remaining in the game.  It wasn't until 45 seconds left in regulation when Alex Claster connected on a triple to give Yeshiva a 58-57 lead.  Off his own miss from downtown, Ian Johnson grabbed the offensive rebound, setting himself up for a second chance to win the game with 14 seconds to go.  Johnson hoisted up a jumper that rattled out of the cylinder and into the possession of Yeshiva to preserve the Skyline Conference victory.

Garthlette James and Ian Johnson led all Panthers with 11 points apiece.  James recorded eight rebounds, one steal and one block while Johnson finished with three steals and three assists.  Divine Jackson had 10 points to go along with eight boards and Lester Prosper tallied eight points, six rebounds and one block.  Rudy Lys added seven points off the bench.
