WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL OUTLASTED BY BARUCH, 3-1

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old
Westbury women's volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to
non-conference opponent, Baruch College Wednesday evening at the
Clark Athletic Center. Old Westbury dropped to 5-22 on the
season while Baruch College evened up at 14-14 overall.
Sophomore Siobhan West (Flushing, N.Y.) and freshman Debra DePalma (New Windsor, N.Y.) each posted double-doubles to led the
Panthers. West tallied a team-high two aces and registered 14
assists and 11 digs while DePalma had 15 assists and 10 digs.
Freshman Serena McGrath (Montgomery, N.Y.) and senior Danielle DeVaul (Binghamton, N.Y.) followed with 10 and eight digs
respectively. Freshman Tynisha George (Medford, N.Y.) fell
two digs short of posting a double-double as she totaled eight digs
and 11 kills. Junior L'oreal Ellington (East Moriches, N.Y.)
and senior Colleen Smith (Copiague, N.Y.) each had five kills while
freshman Tonya Miller (Nyack, N.Y.) recorded a match-high 4.5
blocks to go along with three kills.
Staren Soanes led the Bearcats with 11 kills on a .421 clip
while Nicole Baruffaldi (10) and Myra Estepan (10) also posted
double-figure kills. Baruffaldi recorded the lone
double-double for Baruch College as she added 11 digs to her 10
kills at the same time as teammate Kristin Walker dished out 36
assists. Posey Wilson added a match high 25 digs.
Old Westbury held the Bearcats to a .160 hitting percentage for
the match while only hitting at .090 as a team. The Panthers also
were out-killed, 40-31.
The Green and Ivory will return to action on Tuesday, October
21st at the Skyline Conference foe, Farmingdale State
for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. First serve is
