WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO SAGE, 2-0

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old
Westbury women's soccer team couldn't overcome a strong showing
from Skyline Conference foe, The Sage Colleges Saturday afternoon
in Loundonville, New York, falling by a score of 2-0. Old
Westbury falls to 3-6 on the season and 3-5 in league play while
The Sage Colleges improve to 4-4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference
action.
Rebecca Marszalek netted a goal in the first half that proved to
be all the scoring the Gators would need to claim their second
Skyline Conference victory. Korin Hallenbeck slotted a pass
to Ashley Allain who doubled the lead on a goal with 23 minutes
left in the game to ensure the victory for the Gators. The
Panthers were unable to find momentum with their offense, recording
only seven shots in the match.
Junior Sherrida Maxwell (Rosedale, N.Y.) did what she could to
slow down a Gator offense that rattled off a total of 21 shots. The
junior keeper stopped nine shots on the afternoon as the team
allowed two goals in her collegiate debut. Megan Welcome
registered the shutout for the Gators as she tallied four saves.
The Green and Ivory return to the pitch on Tuesday, October
7th at Skyline Conference opponent, Mount Saint Vincent
