OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer won its final regular-season game of the 2008 season, 7-0 against non-conference opponent, CCNY on Saturday afternoon at Panther Park.  The win snaps a four game losing streak for Old Westbury, improving to 5-10 on the season while CCNY drops to 4-9 on the year.

The game opened up offensively in the first half, most clearly to Old Westbury's advantage. The Panthers outshot the Beavers 19-2 at the end of the first half and had six corner kicks compared to just one for CCNY.  Freshman Cassandra Esposito (Valley Stream, N.Y.) put Old Westbury on the board with an unassisted goal at the 15:22 mark, followed by her second score just 15 seconds later to double the lead.  Esposito notched her fourth hat-trick of the season when she finished a pass from junior Jennifer Campisi (Commack, N.Y.) at the 16:09 mark to net her 16th goal of the season.  Esposito's hat-trick was scored in under one minute to push the Panthers ahead, 3-0.  Old Westbury increased their lead to 4-0 on junior Courtney Dixon's (Baldwin, N.Y.) third goal of the season off a feed from classmate Jessica Manning (Carle Place, N.Y.).  Esposito added her career high fourth goal of the game at the 31:33 mark to finish a pass by Dixon, giving Old Westbury a commanding 5-0 lead.  Courtney Dixon added her fourth goal of the season when she put home a rebound past the outstretched arms of CCNY goalkeeper, Kate Malytska to stake Old Westbury to a 6-0 lead at 38:33.  Dixon's second goal of the game capped off a six goal explosion in less than 24 minutes.  Freshman Chryssanti Nicholas (Albany, N.Y.) scored the first goal of her collegiate career at the 88:12 mark to finalize a 7-0 topping of CCNY.

The Panthers outshot CCNY 34-4 and finished with a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Esposito finished the night with a team-leading seven shots on goal, while Courtney Dixon posted six followed by Jennifer Campisi's four.  Four other Panthers added single or double shots on goal.

Between Old Westbury's pipes, junior Sherrida Maxwell (Rosedale, N.Y.) was stellar in goal, tallying two saves, to garner her first career shutout.  Kate Malytska started for CCNY and made seven stops while giving up six goals, all in the first half before Ana Alban played out the final 45 minutes, allowing one goal with nine saves.

The Green and Ivory will return to action for the Skyline Conference Tournament on Tuesday, November 4th on the road at conference foe, Bard College.  Kickoff time will be announced on Monday.  Please visit www.oldwestburypanthers.com for more information on women's soccer or any of the other Panther athletic teams.
