OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at
Old Westbury women's soccer team scored two goals in the first
18:22 of play and rolled on to a 5-0 win over the visiting Medgar
Evers Cougars on Tuesday evening at the Jackie Robinson Athletic
Complex-Baseball Field. Old Westbury improved to 7-6-1 on the
season while Medgar Evers fell to 6-8-2. Senior Jessica Manning (Carle Place, NY) led the way for the Panthers as she
assisted on two tallies and notched one goal on the night.
Senior Jennifer Campisi (Commack, NY) scored her eight goal of
the season just 17:22 into the match, sending a header past Medgar
Evers' keeper freshman Latima Malachi (Queens, NY) off a feed from
sophomore Julianne Abel (New Hyde Park, NY). The game-winner was
the team-high third of the season for Campisi and Abel's assist was
her third of the season.
Sophomore Cassandra Esposito (Valley Stream, NY) made it 2-0 at
18:22 when she took a flick from senior Sherry Buxo (Brooklyn, NY)
and sent it into the back of the net for her conference-leading
14th goal of the season. Buxo's assist was the
first of her career.
After leading At the 50:15 mark senior Courtney Dixon (Baldwin,
NY) settled a pass from Jessica Manning to record her ninth goal of
the season, while Manning's helper was her second. In the
59th minute of play, Julianne Abel scored her second
goal of the season off a feed from Manning to give Old Westbury a
4-0 advantage. The final goal came at the 71:36 mark, when
Jessica Manning scored her second goal of the season off after
settling a pass from classmate Marie LaMaida (New Hyde Park,
NY). LaMaida's assist was her second of the season
Old Westbury outshot Medgar Evers 30-9 for the game, with 18 of
those coming in the first half. Old Westbury led 5-4 in
corner kicks. Sophomore Jennifer Kupfer (Bellmore, NY)
started in goal for Old Westbury, making six saves to record a
program-best, fourth shutout of the season. Malachi, the
Medgar Evers starter, had 10 saves.

road battle at Celentano Soccer Field on Thursday, October
